A judge recently declined to block the state from cracking down on sellers of hemp-based THC products and is scheduled to hear more arguments this Friday.

But hemp industry advocates want the state Court of Appeals to intervene now.

Lawyers for the Hemp Industry Trade Association say a higher court should step in because their case poses a new question of major statewide importance. And they want hemp-based commerce authorized by federal law allowed in Arizona.

Thousands of jobs reportedly support the hemp industry. Most revenue comes from inhalable and ingestible products containing THC and other cannabinoids.

The attorney general has argued that businesses need a cannabis license to sell THC products, regardless of whether the THC came from hemp or marijuana.
