A streak of consecutive triple-digit high temperatures kicks off in the Valley on Friday.
Matt Solerno is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Phoenix. He says this Mother’s Day weekend brings above average temperatures for May.
"What we typically see right now for early May, our highs should be around the low 90s. So we are gonna be approaching 10 degrees above the normal highs for this time of year," he said.
Solerno says temperatures should cool down again by the middle of next week. Wednesday’s expected high is about 84 degrees.
