If you’re making travel plans for the Memorial Day weekend, you’re not alone. AAA Arizona is projecting some of the highest numbers in decades.
Spokesman Julian Paredes says nearly a million Arizonans will be hitting the road — with most heading to California or south of the border.
“Memorial Day is typically the traditional start to summer travel season. So really, anywhere with attractions or access to water. So definitely for Arizona, Southern California and Mexico,” he said.
Paredes said the rising price of plane tickets means nearly 9 out of 10 holiday travelers will be driving this year.
