A graduate from Arizona State University recently designed an outfit for the red carpet at the upcoming Tony Awards on June 8.

Fashion designer Alexander Diesner says the outfit designed to be worn for the special occasion came from his student capstone collection.

He says the outfit comprises two parts. One is the glittery, silver top with a corset in the interior. The other, black pants made out of black Mikado fabric.

Diesner says his creation at the awards ceremony brings him joy.

“Red carpet is something that I’ve always really wanted to do, like, that’s always really been my goal. And this being my, like, debut for the red carpet. I couldn’t be happier with this because I’m dressing someone who I feel very confident dressing,” he said.

His design will be worn by Colleen Jennings-Roggensack, the executive director of the ASU Gammage performing arts center.

“She definitely loves it. She’s really excited about it. I know she loves it. I know that I love it,” he said.
