The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning for eight Arizona counties, including Maricopa and Pima counties.
Daytime temperatures are expected to climb as high as 116 degrees in the coming days.
The warning will remain in effect in Maricopa and Coconino counties through Friday. Residents are advised to limit outdoor activity and call 211 for heat-related assistance.

Friday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 110. Light and variable wind becoming west southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Low around 81. West southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 106. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Low around 77. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
