Just shy of breaking a heat record Thursday at 117 degrees, greater Phoenix is under an extreme heat warning Friday, though the National Weather Service says to expect a slight cooldown in the coming days.
Meteorologist Alicia Ryan says to expect below normal temperatures for the Valley, with highs in the low 100s.
“By Thursday next week, which is the 26th of June, we are starting to creep up a little bit above normal, again we’re looking at 107," Ryan said.
Ryan says it looks to be dry next week in the Phoenix area, with some moisture possible in southern and eastern Arizona.
