After an unusual break in extreme temperatures, metro Phoenix can expect a return to nearly 110 degrees later this week.
Mark O’Malley is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Phoenix.
“We’ll actually start out the week a little bit below the seasonal normal, just barely clipping above a 100 degrees, but by the end of the week we will definitely be warming up and returning closer to 110 degrees by the time we get to the weekend," he said.
O’Malley says there is a chance of some gusty winds descending down from the mountains. However, he does not expect direct thunderstorms in Phoenix.
