The Arizona Department of Health Services has issued an extreme heat warning for 11 counties.

Yuma, Mohave, Pima, Pinal and Yavapai counties are on that list of areas where temperatures could reach as high as 117. Maricopa county is also included, and Phoenix could break a record today if temps hit the forecast high of 118.

DHS recommends limiting outdoor activity, visiting cooling centers and staying hydrated.

  • (Extended) Coconino County: July 7-13
  • Gila, Maricopa, and Pinal Counties: July 8-10
  • Graham, Greenlee, Mohave, Pima, and Yavapai Counties: July 9
  • La Paz and Yuma Counties: July 9-10
