Dozens of Arizona firefighters and their canine partners are still looking for the bodies of those missing after the deadly floods in Texas.

Flash floods killed at least 135 people in Texas over the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Most of them were along the Guadalupe River in Kerr County, about 60 miles northwest of San Antonio.

Phoenix Fire Capt. D.J. Lee said his crew has a daunting task, covering miles and miles of river bank.

“They’re helping do the search along the river banks on the sides, kind of trying to locate where people are and either marking them or giving the locations where they can possibly search," Lee said.

He added that the weather has been an obstacle.

“Earlier this week, they did have a big rainstorm that came through, but they’re back in full swing, you know it’s hot and humid out there," Lee said.

Lee said it’s an emotionally difficult mission, but firefighters are trying to keep their spirits up after more than 10 days in the state.
