The Arizona Attorney General’s Office is investigating a Texas-based company that state regulators say is an unlicensed insurer of retired police officers and firefighters.

The Thin Blue Line Association was recently sent a cease and desist letter by Arizona insurance regulators who also requested the attorney general investigate consumer complaints.

The company website is now offline, and leaders could not be reached for comment.

Arizona regulators say the company sold gap insurance policies to retired emergency responders but suddenly stopped paying medical claims last November.

A judge in Ohio has given state regulators control over company assets there for being an unlicensed insurer and not paying claims.
