The Pima County Sheriff’s Department says law enforcement rescued 24 guinea pigs at the center of an animal theft investigation.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department says 30 guinea pigs were stolen from an animal sanctuary in Marana.
Sheriff’s spokesperson Kevin Adger says they are looking for two thieves who were seen placing what appears to be a sock over a Ring doorbell camera.
He also says the department believes the suspects are female.
“There is no description of clothing. … It looks to be two young females, but ... no real description at this point in the investigation,” he said.
Adger says the crime happened late Monday night or early Tuesday morning.
The sheriff’s department asks anyone with information about the case to call 911 or 88-CRIME to remain anonymous.
