Recent rains flood at baseball field in Phoenix on Oct. 12, 2025.

Phoenix experienced recording-breaking weather Saturday. The National Weather Service says 0.7 inches of rain fell at Sky Harbor Airport. The previous rainfall record for Oct. 11 was set nearly a century ago at 0.3 inches.

Gabriel Lojero is a weather service meteorologist.

“Most areas got anywhere between a quarter to three-quarters of an inch of rainfall with some areas — isolated areas — over an inch of rain," he said.

Lojero says no heavy rainfall has hit the areas of Globe and Miami where intense flooding caused devastation last month.

The agency has issued a flood watch for Phoenix that extends to Sunday night.
