Drivers taking the U.S. 60 in the Globe-Miami area should expect delays into November while workers repair flood damage.
The State Transportation Board has approved $3 million in funding to repair sections of the highway between Superior and the Globe-Miami area.
The region experienced multiple floods following heavy rainfall in late September and early October. Workers will rebuild embankments that were washed away and repair damaged sections of road.
The Arizona Department of Transportation says drivers should expect a single lane of alternating travel west of Miami for about three to four weeks.
Meanwhile, those traveling between Phoenix and Globe should plan for previously scheduled closures of the U.S. 60 between Superior and Globe for a bridge replacement project. Those are scheduled, when needed, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Drivers can detour on State Routes 177 and 77 through Winkelman, adding 75 miles to the trip, or schedule travel around the closure periods.
