The owners of a Tempe bar where police found underage people in two dragnet operations this year say they want to help with a deadly hit-and-run investigation that led to the most recent raid.

But a statement by Tempe Tavern says there’s been no request to share video footage with Tempe police. And the bar only learned of the case from social media.

The statement also says all bar security procedures, such as digital scanning of IDs, were Tempe police suggestions.

Tempe police have said those scanners labeled some fake IDs real on spring and fall nights when more than 400 underage people were found in the bar.

Instead of raids, Tempe Tavern says it wants to collaborate with police on stopping fake ID use and managing large crowds.
