A replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial is coming to Surprise. The exhibit, known as “The Wall That Heals,” is three-quarters the size of the original memorial.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund scheduled 31 stops across the country for “The Wall That Heals.” The city of Surprise applied to be one of the host sites.

Volunteers will help get the structure set up at Mark Coronado Park.

Travis Ashby is with the city’s sports, entertainment and culture department.

“So the wall itself is coming into town on Tuesday, April 7. So we're going to do an escort ride. It's going to start at Goodyear Ballpark and then land here in Surprise," he said.

People can visit the exhibit for free from April 9-12. Prescott was the first Arizona city to host the wall, in 1998. It’s been to the state 10 times since — most recently in 2024.

“We're honored that they chose us to be a host city and I think that it's going to be a great experience for everyone, not only just in city of Surprise, but you know, just Arizona as a whole. It is the only spot in Arizona that it's coming to this year. So we're excited," Ashby said.
