It's been the hottest March on record for Arizona, and while there is a predicted cooldown for the beginning of April, the temps are still above normal for this time of year.
This week, National Weather Service meteorologist Mark O’Malley says temperatures will be cooling into the mid- to high-80s.
"That's still a little bit above what we should be expecting for the beginning of April," O'Malley said. "And then as we head to the weekend, temperatures will continue to warm and we’ll be back up into the lower to middle 90s by early next week.”
He says a normal April would usually have highs in the lower 80s.
This week’s forecast also includes some isolated storms and wind gusts.
