The awards were announced by the RTDNA on Thursday.

KJZZ senior field correspondent Alisa Reznick and senior field correspondent in Hermosillo Nina Kravinsky won Region 3's Continuing Coverage category for their reporting on seeking asylum on the U.S.-Mexico border.
Digital
KJZZ's digital team won Region 3's Digital category for the overall excellence of the digital presentation of the station's news and features in 2025.
Excellence in Innovation
KJZZ's The Show executive producer Amy Silverman and producer Athena Ankrah won Region 3's Excellence in Innovation category for a multipart series along with a print and digital zine exploring the conditions autistic patients face at the Arizona State Hospital.
Excellence in Sound
KJZZ host Phil Latzman won Region 3's Excellence in Sound award for a feature about Holocaust Remembrance Day that highlighted the music of Gideon Klein, a Czechoslovakian composer who died in Auschwitz in 1945.
Excellence in Writing
Former KJZZ's The Show host Sam Dingman won Region 3's Excellence in Writing award for his reflection on Charlie Kirk after Kirk's death in September 2025.
Investigative Reporting
Wayne Schutsky with KJZZ's Politics Desk won Region 3's Investigative Reporting award for uncovering the story of an Arizona man who used fake documents to get out of prison — and the aftermath.
News Series
KJZZ senior field correspondent Katherine Davis-Young won Region 3's News Series award for her multipart coverage of Maricopa County's eviction crisis and how officials responded.
Newscast
KJZZ won Region 3's Newscast award for this July 15, 2025, segment hosted by Phil Latzman. It featured stories from Camryn Sanchez about the massive Dragon Bravo Fire at the Grand Canyon; from Nina Kravinsky about President Trump threatening tariffs against Mexico; and from Jill Ryan about a groundbreaking study derived from discoveries at the Petrified Forest National Park.

KJZZ's The Show producer Amber Victoria Singer won Region 3's Sports Reporting award for this story focusing on adaptive technology for sports fans.

KJZZ is a member of the Mountain West Bureau, which won this Region 1 News Series award. KJZZ's Greg Hahne wrote one of the series' stories about the challenges of providing power to data centers, and senior digital editor Sky Schaudt designed the series' web presentation.
