A kitchen manager at the center of the Zipps Sports Grill immigration raids has been sentenced to five months in federal prison for his role in hiring undocumented workers.
Federal agents executed search warrants at 14 Zipps restaurants in the Phoenix area in January, in response to a tip to ICE about undocumented workers being employed at those locations.

Among those charged was Diego Gonzalez-Rosales, a Mexican national unlawfully residing in the United States. He pleaded guilty in March over charges related to transferring, possessing or using an identification to make a false statement, all part of a scheme to hire undocumented workers at Zipps.
According to court documents, he is expected to be deported.
