Officials have lifted fire restrictions for the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, citing increased moisture and cooler temperatures.

Among the restrictions lifted includes the closure of the Promontory Butte on the Black Mesa Ranger District.

While officials say the extended forecast shows conditions could continue to improve, they urge visitors to remain vigilant and be certain campfires are completely extinguished.
