A shooting in Tucson early Sunday morning resulted in 10 people being wounded, including a male suspect who was taken into custody with life-threatening injuries.
The Tucson Police Department says patrol officers responded to multiple gunshots in the area. An officer discharged his weapon at the suspect after he attempted to flee, striking the suspect.
The victims, who sustained gunshot trauma, were provided first aid and transported to a local hospital.
The Tucson Police Department says the county incident team and Pima County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the crime.
In a statement on social media, Tucson Mayor Regina Romero wished the victims a speedy recovery and thanked first responders.
