The city of Phoenix has approved a new name for the former Cesar Chavez Park and related community center.
Aguila Park was the top pick from a community survey. City officials didn’t say when the signage would change at the park near 35th Avenue and Baseline Road in south Phoenix
Phoenix City Council ordered Chavez’s name to be removed from all streets and facilities, following allegations the workers rights activist sexually assaulted underage girls and a fellow organizer.
