Two former Phoenix police officers fired over their alleged involvement in a violent traffic stop in August have been indicted by a grand jury.
The grand jury indictments of Antonio Felix and Luis Vasquez Jr. list the same charges previously filed in direct complaints by prosecutors.
Each man faces nine counts, such as assault, kidnapping, tampering with evidence and conspiracy to hinder prosecution.
Felix spent nine years on the force, and Vasquez served eight years.
Reports they filed, their body camera videos, service calls and community interactions are all under audit. So is the South Mountain Precinct and their former squad.
Prosecutors are also reviewing past and present criminal cases they worked on.
