A former employee of the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry is accused of releasing confidential videos showing use of force.
Court records say Elbert Bowie worked at the Lewis prison complex in Buckeye.
A probable cause statement alleges that he texted a girlfriend videos of himself slamming inmates to the ground to show he could handle himself in a dangerous unit.
Bowie reportedly told investigators the videos were recorded with a Corrections Department computer.
He also reportedly said it was common for staff to have phones out when the recordings were made. But now they have to be kept in lockers.
State corrections officials declined to comment on the case against Bowie but said he no longer works for the Department.
