Arizona Coyotes owner Alex Meruelo is reportedly walking away from the team and has no plans to pursue a future arena.
After the team was sold to owners in Utah ahead of next season, fans in the Valley were left wondering if they will ever see their team return to the ice.
Parker Beh, a fan of the National Hockey League, asked what it would take for the franchise to return.
"People that are devoted to keeping hockey in the desert," Beh said. "Whether that’s hockey figures like Shane Doan maybe stepping up with some potential millionaires, billionaires trying to build a team out here. It’s really commitment I think."
Bay referenced Doan, former longtime Coyotes player, among those who could look to form new ownership to bring professional hockey back to Arizona.
