Metro Phoenix residents will get both hot and wet conditions throughout the week leading up to Independence Day, according to the National Weather Service.

NWS forecasts some storms coming into Phoenix on Monday, but meteorologist Gabriel Lojero says those stormy conditions won’t last long as sunny and hot weather takes over.

“Chances of precipitation are about 20% to 30% for the next couple of days through mid-week and then we start a drying trend as we head into the Fourth of July and through the upcoming weekend," he said.

Lojero expects temperatures around 110 degrees in the middle of the week with the possibility of temperatures rising toward the end of the week.
