The Chandler Police Department seized between $10,000 and $15,000 worth of illegal fireworks from a vendor last week. Ensuring the safe use of fireworks is a top priority for officers.

"Well what happens if fireworks that I like hit someone’s home? Or hits someone’s vehicle while they’re driving?’ Those are the things we want people to be careful and mindful of," Gonzales said.
Laws vary by jurisdiction, but in Arizona, exploding projectiles are generally banned for consumer use. Gonzales welcomes anyone to call the department to find out if their fireworks are legal.
