Vitalant 'urgently' seeks donors, plans giveaways at Sunday blood drive in Tempe

Jean Clare Sarmiento/KJZZ

Arizona-based Vitalant is one of the largest nonprofit providers of blood in the country.

Spokesperson Sue Thew said the organization is offering special incentives to encourage people to donate during one of the toughest times of the year, to provide a steady supply for hospitals and patients with certain conditions.

“We urgently need donors to come forward and donate blood because we are in the lowest week of the summer for blood donations,” said Thew.

Appreciation gifts available Sunday at Tempe Center for the Arts will include entry into a drawing for a 2024 V-W Jetta.
