A group of seven men and teens accused of the fatal beating of Preston Lord outside a Queen Creek house party last year now face a civil lawsuit filed by Lord’s parents.

They are seeking an unspecified amount of money that they want determined in a trial.

The lawsuit also accuses the homeowners of negligence, alleging they let underage people drink alcohol at a party billed as a “Halloween costume rager” that drew an estimated 200 people to their property.

The complaint says the seven criminally accused of killing Lord were among those drinking.

The parents of two of the murder suspects are also named as defendants in the civil case.

One set of parents is accused of negligence for allegedly not doing enough to keep their son from committing physical violence in the wake of three earlier incidents cited in the complaint that he allegedly took part in.
