Bri Balcazar

Bri Balcazar is an on-air host and producer at KJZZ. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and media studies.

Balcazar has long held a passion for audio storytelling. Before joining KJZZ, she worked at Nevada Public Radio for nearly four years in various on-air roles, including All Things Considered host and news producer. Balcazar also hosted a music hour and interview show at her college radio station. She got her start in broadcasting as the voice of her middle school morning announcements.

Balcazar was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, and describes herself as a true desert rat. When she’s not on air, she loves to explore the wonderful desertscapes of the Southwest with her fiancé and their dog. Balcazar also enjoys going to live music performances, writing in her journal and capturing the best moments on her film camera.
