The Arizona Supreme Court rejected motions by Cochise County Supervisor Tom Crosby to review and delay a trial stemming from his vote to delay certification of the county’s 2022 vote.
Crosby and fellow Supervisor Peggy Judd were indicted by a grand jury on felony counts of election interference and conspiracy. The Republicans tried to prevent the certification of the 2022 against the legal advice of county attorneys who warned their actions were illegal.
Judd pleaded guilty in the case last year, but Crosby has repeatedly tried and failed to have his own case dismissed.
The Arizona Court of Appeals rejected his motion to dismiss the charges in January. And the Supreme Court’s rejection of his latest motion means the case can now proceed to trial.
A date for Crosby’s trial in Maricopa County Superior Court will be set later this month.
