Gary Restaino has left the job of U.S. attorney for Arizona.
A political appointee of former President Joe Biden, Restaino worked for the Justice Department for about 20 years, most of it in Arizona.
Per federal law, Restaino’s top assistant, Rachel C. Hernandez, is now acting U.S. attorney.
The person President Donald Trump nominates for the full-time job in Arizona must be confirmed by the Senate.
