Arizona veterans and their families gathered at the state Capitol on Friday to protest the Trump administration’s cuts to veteran services and benefits.
The crowd and several speakers had harsh words for President Donald Trump and Elon Musk over the changes they've made.
Among them was JoJo Sweatt, a Marine Corps veteran and activist.
“They have already slashed economic programs that help veterans and military families keep roofs over their heads," Sweatt said. "They are gutting the VA, cutting health care benefits, and services we fought for and earned.”
Some protesters were also upset with Republican U.S. Congressmen Paul Gosar and Juan Ciscomani. They criticized them for passing a budget they say will harm veterans and American citizens alike.
