Buckeye says ex-City Manager Daniel Cotterman resigned Tuesday amid a criminal investigation.
In a statement, the city said the state Department of Child Safety contacted Buckeye police on March 18 about allegations against Cotterman.
Three days later, he was placed on administrative leave. Glendale police are investigating.
Deputy City Manager David Roderique has been named as interim replacement.
