Voters just re-elected Rep. Juan Ciscomani about five months ago, but Democrats are already lining up to challenge the congressman in 2026.
Ciscomani represents Congressional District 6, a competitive Tucson-area district. He was re-elected last year, defeating Democrat Kirsten Engel for the second straight cycle. Ciscomani won the 2024 election over Engel by 2.5%.
The victory, along with Rep. David Schweikert’s re-election in Arizona’s competitive Congressional District 1, helped Republicans maintain a slim majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Democrat JoAnna Mendoza officially launched her congressional campaign in CD 6 in February, and the campaign released its first video this week. Mendoza, who grew up in Eloy, is a Marine Corps and Navy veteran.
Democrat Chris Donat launched his campaign in early March. Donat is a mechanical engineer at Raytheon in Tucson.
