Sen. Mark Kelly says he expects the latest tariffs announced by President Donald Trump will hurt the economy.

Trump unveiled sweeping tariffs across all imports Wednesday, on top of additional taxes on goods from specific countries, like China and Japan.

Arizona’s senior senator says the consensus from economists is the move will raise prices across the board.

"My view of what is likely to happen is I think this is going to be one of the biggest tax increases in American history. Especially for working class, middle class folks," Kelly said.

Kelly says Trump has broken his main campaign promise to ease financial strain on everyday Americans.
