Tuesday marks President Trump’s first 100 days in office. Arizona Democrats are among those criticizing the Trump administration.

Congressman Greg Stanton says if one word has to be chosen to describe Trump’s first 100 days, it would be, “chaos, total chaos.”

He acknowledges that Democrats haven’t been the best messengers and need to better voice their opposition.

However, Stanton says Trump's 42% approval rating is a clear demonstration that most Americans are unhappy with his presidency. The approval rating is the lowest for any newly elected president in 50 years.

“One question we have to ask ourselves, are families in Arizona and across the country better off today than they were 100 days ago? I think the answer’s unequivocal no,” said Stanton.

District 3 Rep. Yassamin Ansari says Trump is abusing the powers of his presidency.

“Pushing every boundary of what’s possible in our government. He is openly ignoring our constitution, our courts and our judges, and ignoring anyone in the co-equal judiciary branch that he disagrees with,” said Ansari.

Ansari says independent voters have lost their support for President Trump. She adds while his base still supports him, if midterms were to be held today, Democrats would take the majority.
