Elon Musk is leaving his role in the Trump administration, heading the Department of Government Efficiency, known as DOGE.
Despite the positive reaction to his work from President Donald Trump, many government officials are critical of Musk and his impact.
Elon Musk says he is leaving the federal government behind after making controversial cuts now at the center of lawsuits. But he says the work of DOGE will continue.
That includes Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly who says Musk’s actions affected many people.
“As a federal government employee, a special government employee, he did a tremendous amount of damage. I’ve met a lot of these folks whose lives have been ruined by his activity with the organization that he set up," he said.
Kelly says the firing of multiple people, included veterans who had served in combat zones.
