On Wednesday, a federal judge put a temporary halt to the closure of most Job Corps sites, including the one in Phoenix.
The decision comes after the federal Department of Labor announced its suspension of most Job Corps centers.
Students were told they had to move out this week.
KJZZ reached out to Phoenix’s Job Corps Center for comment but did not hear back.
A Department of Labor spokesperson told KJZZ that “the Department of Labor is working closely with the Department of Justice to evaluate and comply with the temporary restraining order.”
A hearing is scheduled for June 17 to decide if the block will stay in place.
