The Phoenix City Council on Wednesday is scheduled to consider approving eight legal settlements totaling roughly $1.6 million combined.
City records say most of the legal claims stem from water main breaks going back as far as January of 2023.
Some claims were made by companies that worked on fixing breaks, and at least one was over property damage allegations.
Another settlement over a water main break would be with the Salvation Army, which did not immediately reply to a request for more information.
Potential legal settlements not related to water involve the city’s street transportation and police departments. The latter is a traffic accident claim.
