Congressman Andy Biggs’ daughter Mylie said women shouldn’t hold public office. But she’s running for a seat in the Arizona Senate.

Mylie Biggs, 25, is running for the Legislature in Arizona’s 14th legislative district, which encompasses most of Gilbert.

Last August, she appeared on a podcast called The Matt MacCurdy Program and said she thinks women should not hold office in general, but instead should run the home.

“Honestly, I don’t know if I would vote for any female. I don’t know if a female should be in office. … I don’t think women should hold office in general. That's a man’s position, that's my stance. I think women should run the home,” Biggs said.

Biggs said “feminism” tends to leave women’s bodies once they work a 9-5 job, which she said “women aren’t built for.”

She did not respond to a request for comment.

“Women are supposed to be the nurturers and you know take care of the home, be mothers, and if you're out in Congress or out doing something else, like what are your kids doing? I'm not trying to be sexist in any way. I truly believe that's what women are really good at, that's where they shine is at home,” Biggs said.

Biggs also derided the idea of women in the Secret Service or the military.

“What country wants a woman defending them? Not me like, same thing with the Secret Service," she said. "… I’m like I don't want a woman protecting me, I want men protecting me, are you kidding?”

She went on to say that the nuclear family and women are under attack from the left through things like gender ideology and abortion.

Biggs is currently running unopposed in the conservative leaning district. The current LD14 senator, Warren Petersen, is running for attorney general.

Mylie Biggs' father is running for governor.

On her campaign finance filings, she lists the same address her father did the last time he ran for a seat in the state Senate in 2014.

According to her LinkedIn, Biggs studied politics at Southern Virginia University and the University of Arizona, and graduated from UA last year with a bachelor’s degree in political science.

Biggs worked as a policy intern for a conservative advocacy group called FreedomWorks in 2022.

She went on to intern for a conservative nonprofit called the Arizona Free Enterprise Club in 2023.

From 2024 to the beginning of 2025, Biggs was a “voter analysis copywriter” for Turning Point Action, the political arm of conservative advocacy group Turning Point USA.

From February to the present, Biggs has worked at the Arizona Free Enterprise Club as an “associate of government affairs.”
