Gov. Katie Hobbs has declared a state of emergency in La Paz County after a bridge destroyed by a wildfire collapsed into the Colorado River.

The bridge was a critical crossing point for emergency responders now severely affected by the collapse, which also made the water unnavigable.

The move by Hobbs unlocks $200,000 for use by the state emergency management division.
