A federal judge has dismissed former state lawmaker Justine Wadsack’s lawsuit claiming Tucson police violated her civil rights over a speeding ticket.

Wadsack missed a mandatory court date in late August. On the same day of the hearing, she was posting pictures on X while attending a political event featuring Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk.

The judge ordered her to explain why she didn’t make it to court. But in the Tuesday filing, Wadsack says she has been experiencing a family health crisis that has caused her to “mix up” dates and times.

She did not provide details in the filing, but told the judge she would do so confidentially if required.

Last year Wadsack was clocked going 71 miles per hour in a 35 zone, but claimed the ticket came as retaliation for her criticizing the city of Tucson.
