Arizonans are among a group of Young Republicans whose shocking leaked messages were recently made public in a Politico article.
The reported messages are from a Telegram group chat with Young Republican leaders from four states including Arizona spanning seven months.
They include hundreds of slurs and comments praising Nazism. In one discussion, the Young Republicans discussed an election to chair the Young Republican National Federation, one of their members' lost to current chair Hayden Padgett.
Arizona Young Republicans chair Luke Mosiman wrote “RAPE HAYDEN.”
The state Republican party condemned the group chat’s “hateful rhetoric” in a statement.
“The Republican Party of Arizona stands for respect, civility, and conservative values. We fully condemn all racist, antisemitic, and inappropriate language. Anyone engaging in the hateful rhetoric described in the Politico article published today must resign and be held accountable,” the statement said.
Mosiman didn’t respond to requests for comment.
In another text conversation, Politico reports Mosiman suggested how the group could garner support for a candidate by trying their opponent to white supremacist groups, but then noted the plan might backfire with Kansas Young Republicans who might like the messaging.
Arizona Young Republicans events chair Rachel Hope replied to Mosiman's idea saying “Omg I love this plan.”
