Former Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb is running for Congress in the East Valley.

Lamb, a Republican, served as the Pinal County sheriff for eight years. In 2024 he ran for the U.S. Senate but lost in the GOP primary to Kari Lake.

Now Lamb has filed a statement of interest to run for Congress in District 5, where Rep. Andy Biggs is forgoing reelection to instead run for governor. The heavily Republican district includes Queen Creek, Gilbert and Apache Junction.

Lamb is one of a handful of prominent Republicans to jump into the race so far.

He’ll face off against former state lawmaker Travis Grantham and former Cardinals kicker Jay Feely in the GOP primary.

Lamb did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
