Tempe has scheduled public meetings for Tuesday on a proposal to reduce speed limits on seven city roadways. Changes could take effect in early March.
Five-mile-per-hour speed-limit reductions are proposed for parts of Broadway, Guadalupe, Miller and McKellips roads. Also affected would be Priest Drive, Veterans Way, and Fifth and Roosevelt streets.
City officials say Tempe roadways have evolved with development and lowering speed limits would match street use with corridor character.
A virtual meeting on the potential changes is set for noon on Tuesday.
And an in-person gathering is scheduled for 6 p.m. that night at the Pyle Adult Recreation Center. Public comment will be taken online until Dec. 14.
