Trump administration changes National Park fee-free days and updates pricing for non-residents

The Trump administration has changed which days Americans can visit national parks for free next year. Starting in 226, Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth will no longer on that list.

Instead, Flag Day (June 14) has been added to the list of what the Department of the Interior calls America-first entry fee policies for 2026. Flag Day is also President Donald Trump’s birthday.

The DOI is also announcing pricing changes to its annual pass. Starting next year, the pass will cost $80 for U.S. residents and $250 for nonresidents.

Nonresidents without an annual pass will pay a $100 per-person fee to enter 11 of the most visited national parks, in addition to the standard entrance fee.

Additional resident-only patriotic fee-free days for 2026:

  • President’s Day (Feb. 16)
  • Memorial Day (May 25)
  • Flag Day/President Trump’s birthday (June 14)
  • Independence Day weekend (July 3–5)
  • 110th Birthday of the National Park Service (Aug. 25)
  • Constitution Day (Sept. 17)
  • Theodore Roosevelt’s birthday (Oct. 27)
  • Veteran’s Day (Nov. 11)
