The Bureau of Land Management is taking public comment for the next month on whether to allow target shooting at Sonoran Desert National Monument, southwest of metro Phoenix.
President Donald Trump signed an executive order last year directing federal agencies to adopt policies to expand shooting access on public lands.
Target shooting is currently legal in about 1% of the monument. But the NRA sued the BLM last year looking to expand shooting access.
Comments may be submitted through the BLM's website. Comments may also be emailed to [email protected] or delivered to BLM Sonoran Desert National Monument, Attn.: RMPA EA, 2020 E. Bell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85022.
