Sinema seeks lawsuit dismissal in case accusing her of wrecking N.C. woman's marriage

Former U.S. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema wants a federal judge to toss a lawsuit alleging that she’s liable for the end of a North Carolina woman’s marriage, according to court records filed this week.

Sinema acknowledges having an affair in 2024 with a married Army veteran who was doing security work for the then senator.

Court records say Sinema had six romantic encounters with Matt Ammel, and during that timeframe he became a Senate employee.

But a motion to dismiss also says none of the encounters happened in North Carolina, which is one of few states that allows people to sue over having their spouse lured away.

The document further says Ammel was not in the state when Sinema sent him Signal messages labeled romantic by the plaintiff.
