The Scottsdale mayor’s chief of staff has been fired after a monthslong investigation found he was insubordinate, made unprofessional comments and more.
Lamar Whitmer was suspended in January while he was investigated for alleged violations of city policy. The removal followed turmoil between the mayor and other city officials.
Now a report says Whitmer made inappropriate comments about sex and race.
Whitmer was also found to have ignored the city manager’s order to stop contacting staff. And Whitmer reportedly used his position to try to avoid a parking ticket.
In a statement, Mayor Lisa Borowsky said she did not witness inappropriate conversations and would not have tolerated them.
