A former employee of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office was sentenced to probation on Thursday for stealing jewelry.
Vanessa Dailey, formerly known as Vanessa Hickman, was a division chief at the Attorney General’s Office. She pleaded guilty to theft and trafficking stolen property in February.
Dailey received a misdelivered package containing tens of thousand dollars worth of jewelry. She eventually returned the package, but a bracelet was missing.
She sold it online for $750. Dailey was placed on leave then left her job at the Attorney General’s Office during the criminal investigation.
“The Attorney General’s Office cooperated with their investigation. Ms. Hickman resigned on Monday,” Attorney General Kris Mayes’ spokesperson Richie Taylor said at the time.
She was sentenced to two years' probation.
